Haldimand Property & Acreages

Haldimand is located on the outer edges of what’s commonly referred to as Ontario’s Golden Horseshoe, one of the provinces most densely populated areas. Haldimand property offers residents a desirable serene country lifestyle with beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding prairie landscape. This area is ripe with densely-vegetated open land that has the potential for an array of possibilities.

The most common agricultural uses for land in Haldimand are grain production and livestock. In 2001, grain production accounted for nearly 27% of farmland land use, and cattle farming accounted for 30%, including beef and dairy production. Other common uses for land in this county include swine, poultry, sheep, and fruit crops.

A majority of the county draws its water from the Grand River Watershed. This region, like many of its neighbouring counties, traditionally has a temperate climate so much of the water that the lands need to stay vibrant and healthy comes from precipitation events. This region does rely on crop irrigation as well, which is usually established on existing farm properties.

Community Features & Highlights

Residents of Haldimand County enjoy the relaxed rural environment and privacy that comes with living in the area. It’s also one of the more preferred rural places to live because of its terrific placement near several major urban centres. While there are no major urban centres in the county itself, there are a few noteworthy ones just an one-hour drive away, including Hamilton, Mississauga, Niagra Falls, and St. Catharines, and London.

Developing your business in Haldimand county has so many benefits. Firstly, you’ll enjoy lower taxes than if you were to located to a more urban area. Secondly, developing infrastructure and logistics is easy! The local highways provide great access to southern Ontario’s major transportation hubs, and the county’s proximity to major metropolitan areas makes it easy to get the product directly to the consumers or larger distribution facilities.
