Over half of the farms in Middlesex County are involved in oilseed and grain production. More specifically, soybeans, corn, and winter wheat are the top three types of grain crops that seem to thrive in this region. Of all the types of farming in the region, crop production accounted for nearly 85% of the land use of farms in 2011.

Middlesex County is made up of eight incorporated municipalities. London, Ontario’s sixth-largest metropolitan, is also located within the county, but isn’t included in its jurisdiction. Strathrow is the second largest nearby town and is a popular destination for residents in the western portion of the county.

Located just above the counties of Kent and Elgin, Middlesex County is one of southern Ontario’s choice areas for agriculture and economic development. If you’re looking for a little piece of rural paradise that’s complete with plenty of beautiful scenery and is not too far from a major urban centre, then be sure to check out the listings below.

Middlesex County is primarily zoned for agricultural use, but there is also an abundance of protected woodlands and parklands too, specifically in the northern reaches of the county.
